Peace & Justice Forum
Talley Student Union, Room 4101
IF YOU WANT PEACE…WORK FOR JUSTICE
These forums bring students, faculty and the greater Raleigh community together from across the lines of various academic disciplines and religious traditions to discuss what is right and wrong and why. A committee of NCSU faculty and staff chooses the topics and the speakers according to a list of criteria established by the Presbyterian Campus Ministry Committee of Raleigh, the governing board for Presbyterian Campus Ministry. Bag lunches are welcome. The mission of the Presbyterian Church in Higher Education, following the words of Jesus, is to “love God with our minds.” The Campus community struggles with difficult ethical and moral issues. Students constantly are discussing these issues and developing their own opinions. Peace Lunch Forums provide a setting where there can be a free and open moral discourse led by highly regarded activists and specialists on social justice issues that are important to the church and the university. |
